If you don't know about Tony Koussa, Jr., you’re in for a treat the first time you hear this soul man take the stage! Tony’s band performs Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Rock, Blues, Funk, and Fusion…. a diverse list because Tony is a something of a musical prodigy. He plays saxophone, piano, guitar, bass, and also has a great voice. He has been voted Best Horn Player in Northeast Ohio, shared the stage with greats such as Maceo Parker, Little Milton, Koko Taylor, Kandye Cane and the late Robert Lockwood Jr. He's played for former President Bill Clinton, and current President George W. Bush (Inaugural Ball); opened for performers Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Spryo Gyra, G.E. Smith of the Saturday Night Live Band, and Mannheim Steamroller, and has been featured on many recordings (gospel, blues, jazz, rock, americana). The Tony Koussa, Jr. Band has been nominated for Best R&B Band in Northeast Ohio 3 times. Tony found his way to our stage when he was just 13 years old. We knew we had a tiger by its tail, and are proud to feature him and his band.
All this and he’s only 22 years old! |
